Det som föregått projektet ”Konstkiosk” är reflektioner över vår omedelbara omgivnings tillgänglighet och förutsättning ur ett medborgarrättsligt perspektiv. Vårt intresse för relationella frågeställningar och gestaltningar i internationella konst- och arkitektursammanhang har bidragit till att idén om ”Konstkiosk” har växt fram.

På S:t Knuts väg i Malmöstadsdelen Sorgenfri finns en liten byggnad i trä, en f.d. blomsterkiosk, uppförd på 1940-talet och belägen intill S:t Pauli mellersta kyrkogård. Den har ett långt utskjutande pulpettak som framhäver relationen mellan inne och ute, det är närmast sinnebilden för äldre tiders kioskutformning och har förutsättningar att fungera som en mötesplats. Såväl byggnadens utformning som platsen där den är belägen har inspirerat oss, den har potentialen att knyta samman den äldre bebyggelsen kring S:t Knuts torg med det nya bostadsområdet i kvarteret Spårvägen, i ett stråk som i övrigt domineras av kyrkogårdar.

What preceded the project Konstkiosk are reflections on the availability of our surroundings and the premise from a citizens’ perspective. Our interest in relational issues and designs in international art and architecture contexts has contributed to the idea of ​​Konstkiosk.
There is a small wooden building on S:t Knuts väg in the district Sorgenfri in Malmö, a former flower kiosk, built in the 1940s and located next to S:t Pauli’s Cemetery. It has a long protruding pulp roof that emphasizes the relationship between inside and outside, it is the image of an older kiosk design and has the potential to function as a meeting place. Both the design of the building and the location where it is located have inspired us, it has the potential to link the older buildings around S:t Knut’s square with the new residential area in the Spårvägen neighborhood, in a stretch that is otherwise dominated by cemeteries.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
